John is Office Managing Partner for KPMG Fort Worth office, the Financial Services Audit Leader and Market Leader for the KPMG Alternative Investment Practice in the Dallas Business Unit. John is an Audit Partner and has more than 22 years of experience with KPMG serving clients.
Professional and industry experience
John has a wide range of experience in the alternative investment funds industry which includes custody audits and surprise exams, valuation, structuring, due diligence, agreed upon procedures, initial public offerings, benchmarking and gap analysis. He also serves a variety of alternative investments products such as private equity funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, aviation funds, CLO/CDO’s, commodity pools, venture capital funds, family offices, hybrid products, and their sponsors (including registered investment advisers and broker-dealers). John is also a KPMG Private Equity Partner focusing on providing one point of contact and ensuring KPMG delivers high quality service for all services provided to his private equity clients.
John worked in the KPMG New York office for seven years serving Private Equity fund, Hedge Funds and Fund of Funds managers and other alternative investment products. John served as a U.S. GAAP specialist for a global investment banking client while on secondment to the KPMG London office during 2003 and 2004. During 2007, John went on secondment again, this time to KPMG in the Netherlands, where he worked on various special project for the KPMG global headquarters.
During 2008 John transferred to the KPMG Fort Worth office to focus on serving key Private Equity (including, PE Real Estate and Aviation Funds), Hedge Fund and alternative investment clients and the related alternative investment market place for KPMG. During 2010 John launched the KPMG Dallas Business Units (Dallas BU) - Emerging Manager Funds Platform, focusing on emerging managers, their service needs and the challenges they face as new managers in the asset management industry. John currently serves as the Alternative Investment Funds Market Leader and the Financial Services Audit leader for the Dallas BU.
In addition to audit services, John has performed a variety of business advisory services for his clients including start-up consulting, due diligence assistance, reconciliation projects, regulatory projects, process reengineering, and other agreed-upon procedures.
