Brittany is a tax managing director in KPMG’s Development and Exempt Organizations (DEO) Tax Practice. She has 14 years of experience providing tax services to KPMG clients across the country.
Her experience includes assisting numerous clients with various federal and state tax issues, including compliance and consulting for multi-entity healthcare systems, pension plans, pension trusts, public charities, and private foundations. She provide services to these organizations which include: manages the review and preparation process of Federal Forms 990, 990-T, and state unrelated business income tax returns, provides tax consulting and education services for various technical issues for not-for profit organizations such as maintaining tax-exempt status and compliance with IRC 501(r), including reviewing Financial Assistance Policies, Billing & Collection policies, and other policies and procedures for compliance with the other requirements of IRC 501(r), provides reviews of joint ventures and their compliance with IRC Section 501(r) and benchmarking studies for tax-exempt hospitals, reviews and analyzes the potential for unrelated business taxable income generated by an organization’s investment activity including reviewing of Schedule K-1s, debt financed investments, and other operating activities to determine filing requirements, assists with ASC 740 tax provision reviews for tax exempt organizations, and provides consulting services on topics such as unrelated business income, payroll and compensation issues, joint ventures, and foreign issues to address exposure issues. She is a course developer and National Instructor for KPMG’s DEO Group and regularly provides training to KPMG employees. She is also the co-chair of technology initiatives for this group. Other activities: Brittany is active in various community organizations including: Board Member of Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency and Foundation, and BARE, Inc.
