Derrick Dyslin
Managing Director - Tax, SALT
Derrick is a managing director in the KPMG SALT practice and serves as the U.S. Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Leader for the Property Tax Group. He has over 23 years of industry experience and is knowledgeable in all phases of real, personal, and complex property assessment, including Appeals Board representation, testimony, tax exemptions, and property tax law. His consulting experience includes airline, energy, healthcare, multi-family, retail, hospitality, office campus, high-tech R&D, industrial, communications, and other special-use properties.
Derrick and his team of experienced professionals specialize in identifying opportunities to minimize property tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations.
Prior to joining KPMG, Derrick was a principal in the National CRE Group for the largest Property Tax Practice in the U.S. While there, he managed a staff of Property Tax Professionals and support staff overseeing a Real Estate Portfolio valued in the billions. He built, developed, and managed the SAVE Practice, designed to centralize the review and appeal process for large, National Engagements. Collaborated with technology to set direction and drive a new software product to facilitate the efficient review and appeal of tens of thousands of properties, resulting in significantly lower tax liabilities for his clients.
