Marc is a Partner in the Deal Advisory & Strategy (DAS) practice, where he provides capital markets readiness support, as well as technical accounting, financial reporting, and other transactional support in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Marc has been with KPMG for 25 years, advising on transactions that require complex technical accounting, tax, and financial reporting analysis. He works together with clients to help them understand the broader business implications of contemplated business and accounting decisions.
Marc is a frequent presenter and instructs in national training programs.
Specific areas of expertise, include:
- Supporting private equity firms with post-deal accounting and financial reporting, particularly for platform builds and roll-ups.
- Supporting with capital market readiness for Initial Public Offerings, 144A Offerings, and Special Purpose Acquisition Companies.
- Supporting with mergers & acquisitions, focusing on finance integration and Day 1 readiness, including purchase accounting and related application of ASC 805, Business Combinations, SEC pro forma reporting requirements, accounting policy alignment, GAAP conversions, and close & consolidation.
- Supporting with divestitures, including carve-out financial statements on SEC Form 10, assets held for sale, and discontinued operations reporting.
- Supporting with the implementation of new accounting standards, including ASC 606 and IFRS 15, Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 842 and IFRS 16, Leases, including the assessment of potential accounting and business impacts.
- Providing technical accounting on-call support for complex transactions.
Marc earned his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Accountancy from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
