Brian Culvey, a managing director in Houston, has nearly 20 years of experience in indirect tax specializing in the oil and gas industry. His experience includes leading complex consulting, state audit defense, and reverse audit projects primarily in the areas of sales and use tax, severance tax, and federal oil and gas royalties. Brian serves a broad range of energy clients, including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas clients, as well as in the renewable sector.
Brian serves as practice lead for the KPMG Severance Tax and Royalty Services practice. Prior to joining KPMG, Brian spent five years as a sales, use, and excise tax auditor with the Texas Comptroller.
