Nikki Crighton joined KPMG LLP's State and Local Tax practice as a direct entry principal in August 2008. She assists on many of the firm's state and local controversy engagements as well as assisting client with multi-state tax planning, tax department integrations and state and local tax planning for bankrupt corporations.
Prior to joining KPMG, Nikkie represented a diverse group of FORTUNE 500 companies in all facets of state and local tax litigation. Her clients were concentrated in the oil and gas, retail and automotive industries. Through the litigation process, she gained in-depth knowledge of the manner in which each of those industries operates. In addition to developing good strategic skills, she was extensively exposed to state tax planning.
Her recent engagements include assisting a FORTUNE 500 Company in multi-state tax planning for business liquidation and assisting a client with securing voluntary disclosure agreements in multiple states, thereby eliminating future liabilities and obtaining interest and penalty relief.
