Advisory Managing Director, Forensic
Travis Canova is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Consulting practice, where he leads the Houston Forensic practice, and has more than 18 years of professional experience. Travis has extensive experience providing clients with forensic accounting and investigation services to address concerns of misconduct or non-compliance, to include accounting and financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation, and bribery & corruption, as well as other regulatory and compliance and physical security matters. Travis also helps clients develop physical security programs and compliance programs designed to prevent, detect, and respond to related risks. Travis is one of KPMG’s Compliance Transformation Leaders; and he also supports our largest Federal Audit clients regarding risk of fraud. He commenced his professional career with KPMG’s Audit practice in the Washington, DC and Tysons Corner, Virginia offices, where he became a Certified Public Accountant. He then joined a large publicly traded government contractor, where he became a Certified Fraud Examiner, and conducted international financial, operational, and compliance audits, as well as Ethics Hotline investigations. Immediately prior to joining KPMG Forensic in November 2013, he served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he specialized in white collar criminal investigations. In his community, Travis currently serves on the board of the Texas General Counsel Forum and helps coach his two sons’ sports teams.
