Kimber is the Accounting Standards Leader in the KPMG Department of Professional Practice (DPP). In this capacity he leads the development of the U.S. firm’s views policies, guidance, training, publications, and other materials on U.S. accounting and financial reporting matters. In addition, he leads the U.S. firm’s monitoring of, and interaction with, accounting standard setters including the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and others. He is currently a member of the FASB’s Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) and was a member of the FASB’s Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC) from 2016 – 2019. As KPMG’s Global Leasing Standards Leader, he also leads the development of the international firm’s guidance and policies on the application of U.S. and international financial reporting standards to leasing transactions.
