Partner, Mergers & Acquisitions Tax
Moe is a Partner in KPMG’s Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Tax practice. He also leads the National Attribute Services Group, a subset of professionals in M&A Tax specializing in tax attribute work and related planning.
Moe has over 16 years of business experience and specializes in advising clients on U.S. federal income tax issues in connection with buy-side due diligence, divestitures, transactional tax planning, consolidated return groups, and internal restructurings. He has deep experience in various tax attribute analyses, including but not limited to: net operating loss preservation and planning (including Section 382 ownership change analyses), stock basis calculations, basis disparity analyses, earnings and profits calculations, loss disallowance analyses, and worthless stock losses. Moe has worked with private equity funds, publicly traded corporations, privately held corporations, and individuals on transactions in various industries including aviation, consumer products and retail, health care, hospitality, industrial products, life sciences, oil & gas, power & utilities, real estate, as well as technology, media, and telecom.
Prior to joining KPMG, Moe was a general M&A practitioner at another Big 4 firm and held a regional leadership role of the M&A group specializing in tax attributes and planning. In that role, he not only advised clients but also greatly expanded his team, led marketing efforts, and oversaw training at all levels. Moe has also created and led several trainings and webcasts on various transaction related topics.
