Recommended changes to goods and services tax law decided at 53rd GST Council meeting

Recommended changes to the goods and services tax (GST) law decided at the 53rd GST Council meeting held on June 22, 2024, include:

  • Waivers of interest and penalty in certain cases if tax is paid before March 31, 2025
  • Extended time limit for availing of credit in the initial years after the GST rollout
