Royal Decree 117/2024 (dated 31 January 2024) provides guidance under Law 13/2023 (effective 26 May 2023) which introduced a new mandatory corrective self-assessment procedure for taxpayers seeking to amend self-assessments with respect to the following taxes:

  • Value added tax (VAT)
  • Individual (personal) income tax (IRPF)
  • Corporate tax (IS)
  • Special taxes (IIEE)
  • Greenhouse gas effect fluorinated tax (IGFEI)

Note that the traditional self-assessment amendment procedure may be used when the amendment is based on the violation of a higher legal norm, constitutional, EU law, or an international treaty or agreement.
