Final rule to strengthen existing sanctions under the Export Administration Regulations
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Commerce Department today released a final rule to strengthen existing sanctions under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) against Russia and Belarus in response to Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine and Belarus's complicity in the invasion.
The final rule [PDF 352 KB] (37 pages):
- Expands the scope of the EAR on Russian and Belarusian industry sector sanctions
- Makes certain changes to the licensing requirements that apply to the occupied Crimea region of Ukraine
- Revises recent restrictions targeting Iran's supply of unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia
- Refines certain existing export controls on Russia and Belarus
