He is a partner in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice with more than 20 years of consulting and professional services experience. He also has the privilege of leading the Management Consulting team in the US that is focused on the Energy industry. My focus is on helping CFOs and finance executives in the energy industry to run the “business of finance” better. This includes a focus on defining finance organization strategy and objectives, improving finance processes, deploying enabling technologies, enhancing finance talent and skills and being a more valued service provider to their business constituents.

Engagement experience

  • Led the business advisory function for an SAP implementation of a Northwest-based electric and gas utility.  This included SAP’s G/L (ECC), budgeting and consolidations (BPC), and reporting (BI and FERC module) modules.  The business advisory was responsible for designing the future state processes, ensuring the project’s design documents support the future state design and that the users impacted by the implementation are prepared for their new responsibilities.
  • Led a large scale finance transformation for a large Northeast-based electric and gas utility.  This included overseeing and managing the planning and execution of 12 distinct projects.  These projects included, among others, close and reporting improvement, strategic planning/budgeting/forecasting, account reconciliations, internal control governance.
  • Led a digital-led finance transformation for a large natural gas utility in the Northeast.  This was initially focused on developing and deploying a digital labor capability.  The project then progressed to defining a future state aspiration and vision for finance as well as a prioritized implementation roadmap to achieve this aspiration.  The initial focus of this broader roadmap focused on defining the future operating model and capability requirements.
  • Led assessment, target operating model design and implementation roadmap development for the planning/enterprise performance management function of a large electric/gas/steam utility based in the northeast.  This included evaluating the development of the five year O&M and capital plans and how this enabled the management reporting and business partnering functions.
  • Managed the stabilization efforts associated with a newly implemented ERP package for a large Northeast-based electric and gas utility.  The implementation was across three functional areas (Finance, Supply Chain, HR) and experience significant post-implementation functionality issues.
