Defence Industrial Strategy — new government tax incentives

Canadian businesses may be eligible for government funding and incentive programs announced as part of the new Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy (CDIS). In particular, Canadian defence and aerospace companies, as well as businesses interested in diversifying and supporting this sector, should consider whether they may benefit from new financial support announced on February 17, 2026. These supports, some of which have already been rolled out,  include direct funding allocations, capitalization instruments, long term public investments and supply chain development critical to Canada’s sovereign capabilities.Your KPMG adviser can help you assess whether your business can access these strategic funding programs and provide details on additional government funding that you may be eligible to receive. For more information, contact your KPMG Tax Incentives adviser.
