Pierfilippo M. Natta

Pierfilippo Natta (Pier) focuses on assisting clients with complex international trade matters, ranging from implementing sanctions and export controls programs to forced labor investigations and general trade disputes. His experience covers a global reach and his work has primarily focused on South-East Asia.
Pier applies his international trade knowledge to help clients identify manage and remediate risks. He has advised U.S. companies on developing programs specific to United Nations, United States, and European Union sanctions. More recently, Pier assisted with developing the KPMG Trade & Customs anti-forced labor service offering, where his team conducts investigations and due diligence reviews using international law standards applicable to U.S. Customs.
Prior to joining KPMG, Pier clerked for a boutique International trade law firm, focusing on foreign assets control and foreign investment in the United States. Prior to his experience in international trade, he worked closely on matters concerning international law with international organizations. He has also participated in pro bono opportunities to assist human right clinics and published on human rights law as well as refugee law.
Pier has an LLB degree (Juris Doctor equivalent) from the law school of City, University of London and an LLM degree in international law from Duke University School of Law.
