Anne Bardopoulos-Haleas
Senior Manager, Tax, SALT
Anne is a senior manager in the KPMG Chicago office. She has more than 10 years of experience advising in indirect tax. Prior to joining KPMG LLP in the U.S. in May 2018, Anne worked both in South Africa and the U.S. advising clients on a wide range of indirect tax issues.
Anne has indirect tax experience in a range of businesses/industries, including e-commerce, manufacturing, consumer business, pharmaceutical, and aeronautical as well as tax exempt organizations and international service companies. In addition, Anne’s PhD thesis focus, and subsequently published book, was on e-commerce and VAT.
Anne has advised on many transactions, including:
- Global VAT consulting and compliance
- Cross-border movement of goods and internationally provided services
- M&A, including pre-M&A advisory and post-M&A advisory support and implementation
- Ecommerce, digital services and cloud computing consulting on issues, structuring, emerging global ecommerce rules and compliance
- Coordination of multinational VAT projects and compliance.
