U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a “withhold release order” (WRO) against a company based in Shanghai and its two subsidiaries.
The order, effective immediately, mandates the detention of work gloves manufactured by these companies at all U.S. ports of entry. The WRO was issued based on evidence suggesting the use of convict labor in the production of these goods.
