The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) today imposed a fifth round of sanctions on Hamas targeting networks of Hamas-affiliated financial exchanges in Gaza, and particularly financial facilitators that have played key roles in funds transfers, including cryptocurrency transfers.

The UK and Australia are also placing sanctions on Hamas officials and facilitators concurrent with OFAC’s designations.
