The market for direct real estate investments in the canton of Geneva reached a transaction volume of CHF 3.78 billion in 2022. This corresponds to a decline of around 14% compared to 2021.

The dampening of investment activity occurred particularly in the second half of the year and can be directly linked to the increase in the key interest rate by the SNB and the interest rate turnaround.

Half-year update 2023

In the first six months of 2023, the market for direct real estate investments in the canton of Geneva continued the significant slowdown that started in the second half of 2022.
