Marco Alig

Marco is a Director in the Tax Accounting practice within Corporate Tax at KPMG Zurich, Switzerland.

Since joining KPMG in 2013, Marco has worked with various clients – ranging from small Swiss groups to multinationals – and provided them with tax advisory services. Marco focuses on tax accounting (IFRS, US GAAP and Swiss GAAP FER) and advises clients on all tax accounting matters related to the tax closing process, analyzes the impacts of pillar 2 of BEPS 2.0, the implementation of tools and highlights the tax accounting aspects of M&A transactions. 

Marco is also the lead tax specialist responsible for auditing the tax positions of numerous group and Swiss-component audit mandates. 

Prior to focusing on tax accounting, Marco gained experience in cross-border transactions, particularly with respect to vendor and buy-side due diligence as well as tax-efficient deal structuring from a Swiss tax perspective. Marco’s clients include companies from the life sciences, pharma, chemicals, industrial manufacturing, energy and retail sectors.
