Marcela Calderon is a lawyer with more than 23 years of experience providing advice in the areas of employment, social security, payroll taxes, litigation, and controversy in employment tax matters. Marcela has been partner in the Tax and Legal practice of KPMG in Mexico and, since 2017, she has been in charge of the Legal Employment Tax Services area of the KPMG offices in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Chihuahua.
Marcela specializes in advising clients on employment and social security inspection procedures and administrative employment and social security litigation, as well as preventive consulting, employee compensation plans, profit sharing, confidentiality and noncompetition agreements, corporate restructuring with employee turnover or redundancies, health and occupational hazard requirements, correction procedures, and dispute resolution on payroll taxes. Her experience includes advising clients in the steel, automotive, construction, energy, retail, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
Marcela has written technical articles for the Puntos Finos and IDC, among others. She is a frequent speaker at industry events—recently at the Challenges and Opportunities of the Employment Reform 2019, Future of Work, and Relevant Aspects of Subcontracting conferences. She is a member of the Employment Committee of the Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (COPARMEX).
Marcela has a bachelor's degree in law and a master's degree in constitutional law and human rights.
