The Philippine government has extended the travel ban for inbound travelers from ten (10) restricted countries until the end of August.1

(For prior coverage, read GMS Flash Alert 2021-211, 04 August 2021.)

WHY THIS MATTERS

The travel ban is expected to be continually extended due to COVID-19 variants that drive new outbreaks in the Philippines. Employers should continue to reassess the best practice for their employees particularly those traveling to the Philippines.

It may be prudent at this time to limit travel into and out of the Philippines and employ remote work arrangements.

Travel Ban Extension

All arriving passengers coming from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand or those who have been to these travel-restricted countries within the last 14 days preceding arrival in the Philippines are not allowed to enter until 31 August 2021.
