Janet is a widely respected Canadian business and thought leader with deep expertise in capital project risk and project performance. For over 18 years Janet has advised public and private sector clients in Canada and around the world. Her executive insights help manage multifaceted risks and drive value for a range of industries including utilities, infrastructure, energy, real estate, transportation, mining and financial services. Her clients include CEOs and Executive Teams, Boards of Directors, Audit and Governance Committees and internal audit teams. Janet has led, reviewed, and advised on some of Canada’s largest and most complex projects and is deeply experienced in Claims and Disputes and Project Performance.
Janet is currently a Partner leading major and mega project advice in KPMG’s Risk Services practice and is the National Sector Leader Power, Utilities and Renewables – one of the fastest growing areas in advisory services. In addition to this leadership role in one of Canada’s leading professional services firms, Janet serves as Chair of KPMG’s Board Leadership Center where she brings the latest insights, trends, and expertise to directors and business leaders addressing critical issues on the board agenda today including strategy, risk, ESG and audit quality.
An active member of the community, Janet has served as an advisory member to the federal government and several charities including CivicAction, True Patriot Love Canada and the Canadian Association for Community Living. She has been a director on many boards including the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, Childhood Cancer Canada, and Waterfront Toronto where she served as Acting Chair and led the Audit Committee, overseeing the historic $1.25-billion flood-protection project in the city’s Port Lands district.
