Manoj Kumar Vijai

Manoj is presently the Office Managing Partner – Mumbai and Head – Risk Advisory in KPMG in India. He holds a commerce degree from Sydenham College under the Mumbai University and is professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, and Certified Public Accountant (USA).

In his role as Office Managing Partner for Mumbai, Manoj focuses on building strong client relationships and brand recognition, leading targeted growth initiatives, and fostering close collaboration across service lines, aiming to provide a unified and integrated client experience in Mumbai. As Head of Risk Advisory, Manoj is spearheading initiatives to strengthen KPMG in India's market presence in risk management. He is adapting the practice to emerging market needs and technological advancements, helping KPMG in India remain at the forefront of risk advisory services. Manoj's leadership in both roles emphasises innovation, client-centric services and the development of next generation talent within the firm.

With over three decades of professional experience, particularly in the banking and financial services sector, Manoj has been associated with KPMG in India for over 26 years. Over these years, he has gained valuable experience working with multiple sectors and service lines across the firm. He has assumed various leadership roles in the firm during his extensive tenure.

Prior to his current roles, Manoj was involved in providing assurance services in banking and finance, working extensively with major private sector and foreign banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), funds and asset management companies. He also has significant due diligence experience in financial services for international reporting.

Additionally, Manoj actively contributes to professional bodies and committees in the financial sector. He regularly authors articles, and participates in seminars and forums related to assurance, governance, and the financial services industry.

Passionate about developing and mentoring individuals, Manoj has played a pivotal role over the years in the growth and professional advancement of many aspiring professionals at the firm.
