Gary Wingrove is the Chief Operating Officer of KPMG International, responsible for executing the firm’s Collective Strategy and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the global organization — helping shape the future of the firm across 143 countries and territories.

      In this role, Gary leads operational integration through regional clustering, steers global investment portfolios and innovation programs, and oversees the expansion of the KPMG Delivery Network (KDN). He is also at the forefront of the firm’s digital transformation and AI adoption, and plays a pivotal role in guiding leadership transitions across the network.

      With more than two decades of leadership experience, Gary brings a deep understanding of both strategic execution and cultural transformation. As CEO of KPMG Australia from 2013 to 2021, he led the firm through a period of significant growth, nearly doubling its revenue and profitability.

      Earlier in his career, Gary held national leadership roles in valuations, corporate finance, and advisory services, and was admitted as a partner in KPMG Australia in 2000. Here, he specialized in public fairness opinions, valuations of businesses and intangible assets, and strategic advice. He also served as lead partner for some of KPMG’s largest corporate clients.

      Gary is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. Over his career, he has contributed to a range of industry forums and leadership media, and has also served on various not-for-profit boards as a Non-Executive Director.
