Bruce Matthews

Bruce joined KPMG in 2020 to lead our Restructuring & Performance Improvement practice in the UAE. Bruce has worked for global banks and led asset carve-outs, acquisitions and private equity transactions in various regions. He was a workout banker and has experience in leadership, advisory and portfolio workouts. Bruce is originally from South Africa and spent the last 27 years in the UK working in banking, restructuring and performance improvement. He has also led projects in acquisition, integration and disposal and separation. His experience spans Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Bruce’s sector expertise includes financial services, real estate, commodities and energy. During the course of his career, Bruce has developed several tools in performance improvement and technology, which are now used in restructuring and turnaround for rapid diagnostics, cash flow analysis and cost optimization in large corporate and financial services.
