Tim Johnson leads KPMG’s Deal Advisory’s Financial Services Sector and is a member of the firm’s Finance Services Advisory leadership committee. He has provided deal advisory services to financial sponsors and strategic investors in hundreds of transactions at KPMG. He is responsible of a team of over one hundred dedicated FS specialists who perform M&A services from target identification through integration on over fifty transactions annually across multiple subsectors including banking, capital markets, specialty finance, insurance, asset management, financial technology and real estate. KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice provides differentiated services by leveraging data and analytics through proprietary software to deliver real insights at deal speed. Prior to KPMG Tim was the CFO at Florida Community Bank, an institution that successfully bid, acquired, and integrated over eight banks in under two years. Tim was also an auditor with Arthur Andersen and worked in accounting and finance at Bank One.
Tim has specialized in finance services from the beginning of his career in the roles of auditor, controller, finance director, CFO, and M&A diligence advisor. His experience has provided him with the benefit of seeing deals from multiple angles, and the ability to leverage this insight to identify the risks and value opportunities in every transaction. Tim’s combination of valuable industry experience as an auditor at Arthur Andersen, and line of business controller at Bank One, allows him to be grounded in both highly technical accounting issues and everyday financial processes. His years as a finance director and CFO have uniquely positioned him to translate accounting numbers into an understanding of business drivers.
