Andreas Bong is a partner at KPMG in Germany. He co-leads KPMG in Germany’s Legal Operations Transformation Services together with Philipp Glock . The core of his interest is the development and optimization of in-house legal functions from an efficiency and risk perspective. By adopting a holistic view of the legal function in the end-to-end processes of the company, he ensures that a comprehensive added value is generated, and the company's reputation can sustainably be enhanced. He has a high level of expertise in identifying efficiency and risk KPIs for the measurement and control of local, as well as group-wide legal departments across varying leading industries. As such, he has had the opportunity to advise and support 21 DAX companies and other SMEs in varying industries such as the automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical and insurance industries (among many others). Prior to joining KPMG in Germany, Andreas spent ten years at a market-leading management consultancy firm focusing on strategic and organizational consulting for the in-house functions Legal, Compliance and Intellectual Property, most recently as Managing Partner. In addition to his consulting experience, he has been evaluating and publishing the “Legal Department Benchmarking Report” for over 14 years, observing and determining the trends and developments of the legal department across the top 150 companies in Germany. In 2019, this initiative was extended to a global level, evaluating legal departments of all sizes around the world. He has also led the development of the “IP Department Benchmarking Report” since 2012, which focuses on the top international IP departments.
