How our people are creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

      Truc Le, Consultant

      KPMG Australia

I have always been fascinated by how things work and how they can be improved for both people and the planet. At the University of Queensland, I pursued a dual path in chemical engineering and genetics, spending my spare time exploring rocketry and fuels.

This early curiosity led me to an engineering role at an airline, where I learned a key lesson that changed my career direction: while I enjoyed solving technical problems, I found even greater satisfaction in collaborating with decision-makers.

I joined KPMG Australia as a summer intern and decided to stay on, and today I am a Consultant. My work sits at the intersection of sustainable energy and engineering implementation, the point where ambition meets execution. On any given week, my tasks may range from building compliance models using specialized engineering software to assessing the feasibility of renewable energy in specific contexts.

In late 2025, I took on a global role that is very meaningful to me: Global Lead for Leaders 2050, a professional network for future leaders across sectors, and around the globe who have an interest in creating a more sustainable future through net zero ambitions, clean growth strategies and inclusion, diversity and equity.

I first joined the Leaders 2050 Australia team in early 2024 and right from the beginning it was something that really inspired me. I am deeply motivated by a simple principle: cover all aspects of any given problem. Right now, the problem is ensuring that the leaders of tomorrow are part of today's conversations.

What energizes me is how quickly diverse perspectives can strengthen ideas. When engineers, policy thinkers, financiers, and operators engage in conversations early on, the potential solutions that emerge are more robust and developed more quickly.

Breaking barriers and building bridges for all

KPMG Spain has embarked on an impressive journey to foster inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities. This commitment has resulted in the Bequal Plus certification for the firm, recognizing its efforts as a socially responsible company. The certification is not just a badge; it reflects a deep-rooted strategy that prioritizes people-centered leadership, inclusion, and universal accessibility.

KPMG Spain welcomes professionals with disabilities into its workforce, pairing each new colleague with a diversity champion to help ensure they receive the necessary support and resources. This initiative has led to the formation of relationships with various foundations to help improve employment prospects for those with disabilities more widely.

The firm also collaborates with social entities to raise awareness and create job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. It provides financial support for adaptable high-quality training, grants, scholarships, and hands-on job experience within the firm — all designed to meet individual needs and pave the way for success.

The Spanish firm has focused on creating an environment where everyone can thrive, offering free medical insurance and parking for employees with disabilities, and support for their families. Through innovative programs like the Krece Project, KPMG Spain also provides tailored support for individuals with intellectual disabilities across all areas of its business, helping ensure participants receive the guidance and training needed to succeed in their chosen fields.

Notably, the firm’s internal training initiatives have raised awareness of disability-related issues among employees, building a culture of understanding and ongoing support. Through these efforts, KPMG Spain is not just meeting requirements; it is setting a standard for inclusivity, proving that a commitment to disability initiatives can transform lives and create a more equitable workplace.

      Putting wellbeing first

KPMG Bermuda’s gold standard, a global commitment

At KPMG, mental health and wellbeing are fundamental to how we support our people and uphold our Values. Across the global organization, we’ve continued to expand practical resources, promoted open conversations, and engaged leadership to reduce stigma and help colleagues thrive.

For World Mental Health Day 2025, KPMG International launched global assets co-created with our Next Generation Council, a community of young professionals who represent KPMG firms across the global organization. These included a global leadership panel discussion and short peer to peer insights, designed to complement local activities, and enable teams to engage in meaningful conversations about care, support and connection.

This builds on our longstanding emphasis that a healthy workplace is equitable, inclusive, and actively supports mental wellbeing — a place where people can bring their whole selves to work and access help when they need it.

This commitment came to life in Bermuda this year, where KPMG Bermuda achieved the Gold Mindful Employer Certification from a local mental health foundation. This certification recognizes sustained, evidence-based practices that create psychologically safe workplaces. The Gold Mindful Employer Certification provides a structured roadmap for policies, training, and everyday behaviors that enable people to ask for help, support one another, and maintain well-being — all of which contribute to improved inclusion, engagement, and performance.

The Bermuda firm is now the fifth organization on the island to attain gold certification, boasting 13 trained mental health allies, who completed mental health first aid through the Bermuda Hospitals Board. KPMG Bermuda’s recognition illustrates the impact of consistent action and reinforces our broader message: wellbeing is core to how we lead, how we work and succeed together.
