Karan leads KPMG in India’s Capital Markets practice. He has more than 22 years of professional experience working with companies on their journey to go public and advising them on financial reporting and compliance requirements after they go public. Karan joined KPMG in India in 2013 and has since led the firm’s Capital Markets practice which comprises of cross functional specialists from various service lines who work with companies to prepare them for making the transition from a private company to a public company and raise capital – debt or equity in various primary markets around the world including India, U.S., U.K. and Singapore. Prior to joining the firm, Karan worked with PwC’s Global Capital Markets Group serving clients in various geographies including India, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and the U.S. He has interacted with various regulators including SEBI, SEC and others in assisting companies to respond to queries from them. He also extensive experience in advising companies on complex financial reporting matters including Business Combinations, Consolidation, Revenue Recognition, Stock-based compensation and other topics. Karan also works extensively with startups and e-commerce companies and is a part of the firm’s Startup Advisory practice.
