Simar is a seasoned leader in the Financial Services Captives (FS GCC), whose journey spans over 25 years across major financial hubs including New York, London, Hong Kong, and India. His expertise encompasses pivotal roles in both 'Run the Bank' and 'Change the Bank’ within consumer, commercial, and investment banking areas of large global banks.

Simar is amongst the early batch of leaders who has significantly shaped the India GCC narrative. Simar left a lasting impact on major banks like Wachovia, HSBC, and UBS prior to joining KPMG in India. He managed teams of 10,000 individuals, blending deep industry knowledge with a vast network and a passion for mentoring, giving him a competitive edge and enabling genuine industry relationships.

His journey is marked by a series of impactful leadership roles where he guided organisations through pivotal transitions, consistently delivering transformative results. Simar has been the driving force behind major changes, like shifting to in-house operations (UBS) or automation, outsourcing (HSBC). Early in his career, Simar was pivotal in Genpact’s deals team, aiding in the creation of the Wachovia (now Wells Fargo) Virtual Captive.

He has been instrumental in leading initiatives focused on cost management / take-out, shared services programme, global delivery model for niche areas like offshore transformation capability, intelligent automation, process mining, operational excellence, innovation and future skills.

Simar came to KPMG in India in 2022 to take more of KPMG advisory and consulting solutions to Financial Services Clients to leverage their Global Capability Centers effectively
