Abhishek Verma

A University of Manchester graduate, Abhishek has more than 20 years of experience with prominent global consulting firms and a decorated career with the Armed Forces. As Partner with KPMG’s Aerospace & Defence practice in India, Abhishek leads projects in defence strategy and production across the country. Some of his key assignments include development and promotion of the two defence corridors in the country, a large defence production hub based in western India and development of growth strategy for marquee defence PSUs under Ministry of Defence. He has also advised India’s premier space organisation in leveraging private participation in the production of their launch vehicles. On the private sector side, Abhishek has advised a number of defence manufacturers in India and globally in setting up their operations in India and integration with global supply chains of major OEMs.

Abhishek has also executed significant maritime projects with defence shipyards, which include advisory services for successful collaboration with foreign shipyards for technology and design support, and contracting with the Navy.

He is a regular speaker in defence related events across the country and represents KPMG in India in various defence forums. As a defence sector leader for KPMG in India, Abhishek is driving policy level interventions with the Ministry of Defence, DPSUs and the Services and as public procurement expert, he advises defence clients across public and private sector in bringing efficiency in production, procurement, vendor management and overall programme management. He brings extensive experience in investment promotion in Indian defence sector by promotion of initiatives under “Atmanirbhar Bharat” mission of Government of India.
