Under a new Resolution, travel by certain Indian nationals to Argentina will be significantly facilitated.

      On 27 August 2025, Resolution 353/2025 issued by the National Immigration office (la Dirección General de Migraciones) was published in Argentina’s “Official Gazette”1 (Boletín Oficial de la República Argentina).

      Under this new framework, Indian citizens holding a valid U.S. visa for a comparable migration category will be allowed to enter Argentina without requiring an Argentine consular visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE).

      WHY THIS MATTERS

      The Resolution is expected to reduce heretofore procedural hurdles for certain Indian national travelers coming to Argentina.

      Multinational organizations with Indian employees or business partners may see smoother processes in respect of entry into and exit from Argentina for eligible Indian nationals and shorter lead times for travel into Argentina.

      However, organizations should remind affected travelers that the entry permission granted under this Resolution does not allow changes of immigration status in-country.  Any longer-term residence or work authorization will still require the regular application process.

      More Details

      The Resolution allows for initial stay of up to 90 days; an extension is possible once, for an equivalent period, subject to review by the National Immigration office.  Beneficiaries cannot apply for a change of migration category during their stay in Argentina.

      KPMG INSIGHTS

      This policy change reflects Argentina’s broader efforts to:

      • facilitate inbound travel from India, an important tourism market and commercial partner;
      • strengthen bilateral ties with India by promoting trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges;
      • promote tourism in Argentina and support the country’s economic growth.

      Employers and mobility program managers are encouraged to review travel policies, help ensure that proper documentation is retained (i.e., valid U.S. visa + Indian passport), and monitor further guidance from Argentina’s immigration authorities.

      Indian-national individuals with plans to travel to Argentina for pleasure or for work and companies with globally mobile employees who are Indian nationals who may travel to Argentina for work purposes should engage with their immigration advisers to assess the scope and impacts of Resolution 353/2025 and determine appropriate next steps.  The immigration team with KPMG in Argentina can assist with this (see the Contacts section).
