Argentina’s government has enacted Decree N° 241/2021 concerning the extension of obligatory social distancing until 30 April 2021, for the Buenos Aires metropolitan region. Many activities that bring people outdoors (e.g., shopping, restaurants, etc.) have been curtailed.

WHY THIS MATTERS
The rules individuals are required to follow may present some with a degree of inconvenience and disruption. The measures established in the Decree N° 241/2021, imply remote working will continue to be key for globally-mobile employees.
More Details
The Decree advises people to keep 1.5 meters apart, to use a face mask, and to use gel-alcohol – with the aim of helping prevent the spread of the virus. However, the government decided to impose tougher measures and suspend activities, which are forbidden (as of 16 April), such as:
- Shopping malls.
- All sports, recreational, social, cultural, and religious activities that take place in enclosed environments.
- Commercial premises, between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am of the following day.
- Gastronomic venues (restaurants, bars, etc.), between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am of the following day, except for take-away/food for delivery.
- The public urban and inter-urban passenger transport service (may only be used by essential workers).
- In the Metropolitan Region (AMBA), individuals must remain in their houses from 8:00 pm until 6:00 am of the following day.
