      Client transformation journey

      A barrier to digital inclusion

India’s linguistic diversity presents a significant barrier to digital inclusion. With over 22 official languages and hundreds of regional dialects, many citizens have difficulties accessing digital services in their preferred language. Traditional language solutions lacked scalability, real-time performance and platform-integration, further limiting reach and impact.

KPMG in India’s client leads a government initiative to help reduce language barriers in accessing the government’s services and increasing digital inclusion at scale.

      Breaking down barriers

To bridge language and digital divides at scale, the Government of India launched an initiative to translate content into multiple Indian languages and enable effective communication among diverse speakers by helping to reduce language barriers in accessing the government’s services.

With support from KPMG in India, a broad-ranging language AI platform was developed, powered by more than 300 AI models and supporting over 220 languages.

A measurable difference in the digital landscape

Through KPMG in India’s strategic guidance on AI-driven technology solutions, policy frameworks and expansion strategies, more than 15 services were implemented such as translation, speech recognition and chatbot integration, supported by more than 12 reference applications for testing and refinement.
