KPMG in India has announced the winners of the ENRich 2023 startup search programme. The winning startups are Nexus Power, Apeiro Energy, MiniMines, MinionLabs, Caliche and Syook.
In July this year, the firm kickstarted a search for startups showcasing creative solutions that can help us grow with less and, suggest pioneering ways of sustainable development while minimising the impact on the planet.
The Startup search finalists were felicitated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India and Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority (CEA) at the ENRich 2023 Innovation Summit held on 10 October 2023. ‘Growing with Less’ is also the theme for ENRich 2023, KPMG in India’s flagship Energy and Natural Resources conclave being organised on October 10 & 11, 2023.
This year’s startup search was conducted via KPMG Illuminate, a systematic, broad-ranging innovation management platform. The search was conducted along two parallel tracks: one for early-stage startups, and one for mature startups. 40+ nominations were received for both the tracks. At first, applicants underwent a preliminary screening process. Subsequently, selected participants under each of the 10+ solution categories were given the opportunity to present their respective solutions to 10+ jury members comprising of KPMG partners and industry experts. The jury evaluation allowed us to identify our startup search winners.
The winning startups will get an opportunity to showcase their solutions at a dedicated kiosk at the ‘NxT Gen Technology Zone’ at the ENRich event. They will also get a unique opportunity to connect with potential clients through KPMG Matchi, a startup database. These chosen startups will also stand a chance to:
- Network with KPMG in India partners and industry leaders both at the ENRich conclave and afterwards as well
- Explore the feasibility of joint pilots / joint value propositions alongside KPMG in India
- Get involved with KPMG in India’s open innovation platform and/or the Global Tech Innovation Challenge
- Be featured at ‘KPMG Innovation Kaleidoscope’ or ‘KPMG Climate Change and Decarbonization Center’.
Congratulating the winners, Anish De, Global Head, Energy Natural Resources & Chemicals (ENRC), KPMG International said, “In this era of environmental concerns and dwindling resources, the notion of sustainable development and thriving with less is gaining importance. These startups have demonstrated innovation and immense potential in developing resource and energy-efficient solutions. I convey my heartfelt congratulations to the winners and am confident and optimistic that they will greatly benefit from the opportunities offered to them by KPMG in India.”
