With Administrative Decision N° 370/2022,1 the Argentinean government, on 7 April 2022, reduced the requirements for Argentineans and foreign residents to enter the country as follows: 1) make an electronic sworn declaration 48 hours prior to arrival on the National Immigration office webpage about the traveller’s vaccination/COVID-19 status, and 2) have COVID-19 insurance. (For prior coverage, see GMS Flash Alert 2022-20, 28 January 2022.)
Why this matters
These announcements will further simplify the process for those nationals and residents returning to Argentina.
Details
Argentines or residents entering the country for less than 24 hours by land do not have to comply with these measures.
Additionally, nonresident Ukrainian nationals or Ukrainians who have emigrated because of the war are also excepted from following these measures. However, if they remain in Argentina, they must have COVID-19 insurance.
Individuals entering the country without a complete vaccination schedule are encouraged to perform a diagnostic test 24 hours after their arrival. The cost of the test will be absorbed by each individual. A complete vaccination schedule refers to the one defined by the authorities of each country.
Continuance of Existing Measures
Measures advising people to keep 1.5 meters apart, and the use of mouth coverings / face-masks, are still in place to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and its strains.
