For today’s business leaders, the mandate is clear: deliver resilience and growth — even in volatile markets. To do so, leaders are leveraging AI. Yet scaling AI responsibly, securely and with measurable impact requires more than technology. It takes an advisor with deep technical know-how, hands-on experience, and the industry insight to turn potential into value.

KPMG firms are uniquely positioned to be that advisor. And now, Microsoft is validating the level of specialization KPMG professionals bring to the table for clients.

We are proud to have achieved additional Microsoft advanced specializations in AI for Microsoft Copilot and Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure. These new specializations are in addition to the Microsoft Solutions Partner designations and specializations KPMG has acheived across Business Applications, Data & AI (Azure), Digital & App Innovation (Azure), Infrastructure (Azure), Modern Work, and Security.

These milestones build on KPMG’s bold investment to expand its global alliance with Microsoft. We began embedding AI and cloud technologies across our operations in 2023, giving KPMG teams a head start in experimenting responsibly with Microsoft AI tools and capabilities, while reimagining how work gets done. This early experience positioned KPMG teams to help clients move faster and more confidently through AI exploration to enterprise-wide transformation.

What do Microsoft specializations mean for businesses

Specializations are awarded to Microsoft alliance partners who have demonstrated proven delivery, robust training, global capability and a track record of client success with specific Microsoft offerings. Essentially, these specializations serve as a quality mark – a signal to clients that they are working with an organization who has the skills and experience to execute at scale.

This validation is particularly important for organizations looking to achieve measurable value from advisors and systems integrators that have a proven track record of delivering practical use cases for Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI technologies, while building in the governance, security and risk frameworks needed for complex enterprise-scale deployments.

      • KPMG’s achievement with Microsoft specializations demonstrates our strength across the Microsoft ecosystem to:
      • Build AI Apps on Microsoft Azure specialization: Elite capability to design and deliver custom AI solutions tailored to complex industry and organization needs.
      • Microsoft Copilot specialization: Tested experience in delivering Microsoft Copilot responsibly and at scale.

Microsoft sets a high bar for their specializations, and our achievements are a result of the demonstrated value KPMG firms have delivered to clients. For business leaders, this rigor matters — it helps provide assurance that when you invest in a transformation program, you’re working with an advisor who can deliver trusted tech solutions that scale with your ambition.

      From vision to measurable impact

The value of these specializations is best seen in the results delivered to clients.

In the public sector, KPMG Belgium guided the Flemish Government through one of the largest public sector Microsoft Copilot deployments of its kind in Europe. With 10,000 Copilot licenses rolled out across departments, the program was more than a technology update — it was a blueprint for how government organizations can embrace AI responsibly.

Using proprietary frameworks like Workforce.AI, the team mapped high-value use cases to roles and workflows, driving efficiency and compliance gains, while embedding Microsoft’s Responsible AI principles at every step. The result was a human-centered rollout that set a benchmark for public-sector AI readiness.

In the private sector, Vodafone faced a different challenge. Having completed an early pilot with a few hundred Microsoft Copilot users, the telecommunications company needed a data-driven business case to scale. KPMG UK combined insights from the pilot with global benchmarks and Workforce.AI modeling to quantify where Copilot could deliver the greatest value. With this clarity, Vodafone committed to bringing Copilot to nearly 70 percent of its workforce, unlocking measurable gains in productivity and work quality.

Looking ahead: Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI and AI Agents

Earning Microsoft specializations signals readiness for today. But KPMG’s vision goes further.

By connecting Microsoft Copilot off-the-shelf capabilities, Azure AI custom builds and emerging agentic AI, KPMG firms are helping organizations adopt AI at speed while helping to ensure the governance, security and change enablement required for sustainable transformation. This combination — technical depth, industry knowledge, and human-centered execution — helps position clients not just to keep pace with AI, but to lead it.
