Sidney Ito

As the lead Partner of Risk Consulting for KPMG in Brazil and the South America Region, Sidney Ito is responsible for heading the operations, vision and strategy of that practice. He is also Chair of KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute and Board Leadership Center in Brazil and has significant experience in advising Board of Directors, Family Boards and Audit Committees. With over 30 years as a KPMG professional, Sidney Ito has also spent 2 of those years outside of South America as senior manager of KPMG in the US’, Houston office from 1995 to 1997. Sidney has vast experience as partner-in-charge of several projects for Brazilian and foreign companies, related to corporate governance advisory, Chairman and CEO succession planning, IPO advisory, risk management and regulatory and compliance; He has also been asked to speak at presentations for several institutions on these subjects. In 2016, he became a member of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Advisory Board of AACD, a non-for-profit organization for healthcare. In addition, he is also the former Executive Director of IBGC – Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance. In addition, Sidney is also a member of several organizations dedicated to improving and disseminating the corporate governance concepts around the world and in Brazil, such as NACD, the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), and the Business Administration Council – Sao Paulo (CRA-SP).
