As Global Tax lead, Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare, Thorsten collaborates with numerous KPMG colleagues around the world on a suite of shared approaches to address tax issues within these sectors along with education, not for profit, church and other organizations within the public sector. Thorsten has almost 25 years’ experience in giving tax advice to public sector clients. As a Tax partner with KPMG in Germany, he works with his clients to implement tax-optimized organizational structures with special attention paid to healthcare organizations and the state social security system. Thorsten has a long-standing reputation for leading clients domestic and abroad through transactions and tax optimization challenges. He has authored numerous publications on tax topics impacting not for profit and charitable organizations. Trained as a lawyer, his areas of expertise include compliance, corporate law structure, co-operations and financing from a tax perspective.
