Coenie Basson

Coenie is an audit partner and the current managing partner for the KPMG Energy & National Resources (ENR) audit group in South Africa with over 20 years of audit and advisory experience. The ENR audit group audits a large number of chemical and mining clients in South Africa and clients across the rest of the African continent. He has extensive experience with multinational multi-listed clients primarily in the gold, platinum, chemicals, pulp & paper and oil & gas industries. Coenie has widespread audit experience (ISA and PCAOB) of IFRS, US GAAP and internal control over financial reporting (ICOFR) reporting for JSE, NYSE, TSX and NASDAQ listed groups. He has also worked on various IPO’s, spin-offs, fund raisings and carve-out financial statements as well as ICOFR implementations. Coenie is also involved with a number of ENR non-audit clients on advisory engagements.
