Parizad is a Partner with KPMG in India’s Tax practice, with around 20 years of experience in tax and allied matters applicable to personal tax, in both advisory and compliance matters. She has a vast experience in dealing with Indian tax and regulatory issues pertaining to cross-border population. Her domain expertise also includes planning and advice related to structuring of equity based incentive compensation, taxation of retirals and other cost benefits.
Parizad has been involved in advising on compensation structuring, and employee stock option structuring of various companies, including multinational entities. She has represented expatriate employees in assessment proceedings before the tax authorities at various levels as well as handled engagements covering both inbound expatriates and outbound assignees in respect of various multinational and large Indian companies. She has also dealt with large corporates on foreign exchange issues relating to employee movements and has advised several companies on Indian social security and visa/immigration related matters, along with planning for international secondments and availing treaty benefits, as relevant.
She also undertakes drafting of employment contracts from a taxation perspective, addressing cross-border tax issues to diminish the tax impact and avoid double taxation on employment income. Expatriate taxation matters pertaining to movement between various countries, including immigration and international tax issues including corporate, service tax and transfer pricing concerns. Further, Parizad is proficient with respect to the implementation of hypothetical tax and tax equalisation policies. She regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on a range of employee related tax and regulatory matters.
