Over the past 20 years, as part of the Accounting Methods and Credits practice in the US, Richard has led several teams in delivering tax planning services for corporate clients, focusing on accounting methods and tax credit/incentive projects. Richard also works closely with KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice to research and determine firm positions on new and unclear areas of tax law.
Richard is a strong voice within the global tax and legal community through his involvement in coordinating KPMG’s global tax credits/incentives network. Richard also regularly meets with federal and state taxing authorities to discuss taxpayer feedback and process improvements.
At KPMG, he is actively involved in client training and internal training for KPMG colleagues, and he is also a regular contributor to KPMG thought leadership. Outside of KPMG, Richard teaches a tax class at the University of San Diego’s School of Law and participates in local recruiting.
Richard is active in the local West Coast area and regularly promotes KPMG. He is actively involved in local community outreach.
