Marcus returned to KPMG in September 2023 after three years with Alantra's FIG team, where he advised banks and non-bank lenders in the UK and Western Europe through M&A and capital raising transactions as lead adviser, alongside building up the London team.
Prior to that Marcus was with KPMG’s Financial Services practice from 2003-2020, including roles in London, Brussels and Frankfurt. He has worked on over 100 FIG deals as well as capital, profitability and strategic reviews.
Marcus is very much a 'European' Brit - he has lived in France, Belgium and Germany for approximately 13 years in total. He was a partner in KPMG's European Central Bank office in Frankfurt and also led the firm's European FS Deals network. He has a deep understanding of European banking supervision and can speak French to (almost) native level.
Marcus is a UK Chartered Accountant (FCA) and holds an MBA, as well as Executive Education in Banking from Wharton Business School.
