Cyber Security – Hiring Capture the Flag

At KPMG in India, we recognise the value of practical skills and hands-on experience in the field of cyber security. The cyber security hackathon provides a platform for participants to showcase their abilities and problem-solving skills in various cyber security domains. This event offers an opportunity to identify talented individuals who can be part of our Penetration Testing and Red Teaming teams.

The shortlisted participants would stand a chance to appear for an interview with the cyber security teams at KPMG in India.

  • Registration          : Start Date – 7 December 2023 to 21 December 2023
  • Capture the flag   : Start Date – 22 December 2023 9 a.m to 11:59 p.m.

If you are a tenured cyber security professional with 1-6 years industry experience and want to join the team of cyber security teams at KPMG, this event is for you.

The event will include challenges to exploit a vulnerability and obtain a flag of a specified format. The challenges may be divided into categories such as web application, cloud security, infrastructure security, reverse engineering, OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) and cryptography. 

In today's interconnected world, cybersecurity is not just an option; it's a critical necessity. With the ever-evolving landscape of threats, protecting our systems, data, and privacy has become paramount. Now is the time for bright minds to help prioritize cybersecurity, safeguard digital infrastructure, defend against new-age attacks, and ensure a resilient and secure future for all.

Q: Is this an online event?

A: Yes, this is an online event. The registered participants shall receive the details about the ‘know-hows’ about the event.

Q: Can I participate individually, or do I need to form a team?

A: You would be required to register as an individual only. The platform is equipped to monitor duplication of efforts and any submissions that are found to be collaborative will be disqualified. This is not a team event.

Q: What is the scoring mechanism for the challenges?

A: The event will include challenges that will have different points awarded based on the difficulty of the challenges. Once the candidate solves the challenges a flag will be presented which would have to be submitted onto the platform where it will be tracked.

Q: Will there be any support available?

A: The platform allows you to take hints for every challenge. However, every hint you wish to view will cost you some points. We will further communicate details regarding the communication channels that would be used during the event to address any difficulties faced by the participants.
