James is the senior leadership, heading Transformation Division of KPMG China, which advises clients navigating complex transformation. With 24 years of experience advising clients from such sectors as FS, Corporate ESG, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Infrastructure & Government, James is also a senior professional specializing in internal controls, project management, banking systems, regulatory compliance, data & AI, organizational transformations. Besides his leadership role, he currently leads complex advisory projects, leveraging his deep industry knowledge and experience in guiding clients through critical initiatives.
Over the past five years, James has focused on global markets and trading business advisory for banking and securities firms. His specialties include business planning, vendor selection, system implementation, data migration, process optimizing and organizational re-structuring. He has advised over 30 foreign banks on regulatory compliance during their establishment and expansion, supported more than 20 joint ventures in the securities and wealth management sectors. His collaboration with Chinese regulators and experience in IT compliance further establish him as a trusted industry leader.
James has extensive experience in IT and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector. He has served on the IT steering committee for a foreign bank’s core banking system implementation, supported a global investment bank in selecting China’s core banking systems, and led GAAP conversion projects for multiple banks. As PMO head for a large bank’s Basel II market risk implementation, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical experience, solidifying his reputation as a leading professional in the field.
