Joie Chen specializes in corporate, securities law and commercial law. Her practice area covers foreign investment, corporate mergers and acquisitions, assets and equity transactions, corporate law, securities and commercial law consultation, corporate governance, litigations, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms concerning commercial disputes.
During her years of practice, Joie has assisted clients in various corporate assets and equity transactions and group reorganization projects, including the acquisition of a Taiwan based PCB/PCBA pioneering company by a Japanese listed company, the spin-off and assets transfer of a European listed company of its assets in Taiwan, and the acquisition of assets of a Taiwan company by an Australian listed company. Joie has also assisted domestic and foreign enterprises in applying for public offering and listing in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States markets. In addition, Joie is experienced in foreign investment, cross-border joint ventures, private equity fund investment cases, and has assisted clients in cross-border commercial dispute resolutions, arbitrations, and litigations, and provided relevant legal advice.
Joie graduated from the College of Law and the graduate school of National Taiwan University (NTU), where she obtained her LL.M. and LL.B. degrees. When in NTU, she served as the research assistant in several government funded research projects, the teaching assistant in several courses, and the administrative assistant of the Commercial Law Center of the NTU.
