Saif Shawer has 23 years of experience in the external audit and risk consulting in Kuwait, the UAE, Canada and Qatar. Saif led audits of several listed companies in the UAE and Canada, reputable governmental authorities and large family groups in the Middle East region.
Experience
Saif led audits of several listed companies in the UAE and Canada, reputable governmental authorities and large family groups in the Middle East region. He acted as the Head of Family Business and Head of IPSAS reporting in KPMG Abu Dhabi.
His experience in family businesses includes advising owners and Board of Directors on techniques to enhance the governance, the succession between generations and restructuring of business models.
He has also led large local and multinational audits and assisted multiple government organizations to convert their accounts to accrual basis in compliance with the new IPSAS standards.
Saif also led multiple engagements in the education, real estate, hospitality, and contracting sectors during which he was involved on concluding significant matters as valuations, impairments and conversion from cash to IPSAS basis.
He is also deeply involved in the ESG preparation and reporting. He is a certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the US, member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and a licensed Chartered Accountant in the UAE.
