Robert joined KPMG in 1988 and is a tax partner in the Amsterdam office of KPMG Meijburg. He specialises in international individual income taxation (expatriate tax) and EU law. Robert heads KPMG's European Tax Centre which is based in Amsterdam. This centre coordinates all technical developments in the area of EU tax law. Among his clients are many multinational corporations as well as top executives who are active around Europe and the rest of the globe. Robert has frequently brought cases to the national and European court (a.o. case De Groot concerning the question whether the Dutch method of providing double tax relief was compatible with the EU Treaty).
