Jacob Hacker

Jacob is a Director within KPMG’s Management Consulting practice in Australia and leads their Global Space Industry practice, which supports the firm’s space sector work in over 20 countries.

Jacob brings a breadth of experience in the space sector, having advised a range of international governments on their space industry strategy, policy and program delivery as well as corporate clients on investments made into Australian space companies and infrastructure. Since 2020, Jacob has led the establishment of KPMG's Global Space Industry practice, developing the team's strategy, business development and thought leadership. This includes KPMG’s thought leadership series ‘Bringing Space Down to Earth’, ‘Navigating Space’ and ‘30 Voices on 2030: the future of space’.

While Jacob predominantly works in the space sector, he has experience in the financial services, government and utilities sectors. This is across a range of disciplines including strategy, policy and target operating model development, program management and lean/operational excellence improvement.

Jacob is an active member of a number of industry forums including being on the Advisory Panel of the National Space Industry Hub and a member of the International Astronautical Federation's Space Entrepreneurship and Investment Committee and American Chamber of Commerce in Australia's Space Committee. Prior to joining KPMG, Jacob worked with the United Nations Observer, Space Generation Advisory Council, as the Treasurer.
